Purpose

Purpose
This blog is our family journal. Our desire is to use it to keep those who are far away, close. And those who are near, even closer. Enjoy.

The Leader

The Leader
Prince Charming, Dada, Special K, is my handsome, hardworking, forgiving, loving husband, and is the father of our soon to be two children. We have known each other since college and have been married for almost five years! I am committed to him forever and am so blessed and thankful he the leader of our house!

Mama VC

Mama VC
I used to think I was defined by my interior decorating, spray painting, bargin hunting, fast talking, meal planning, color obsessing, amateur landscaping, baby food making, photograph taking, trip planning, baby making, garage sale hunting, small town living, small government believing, pro-life advocating, sports loving, mini-van driving, story telling, grocery shopping, mall walking, jewelry making, reality tv obsessing, breastfeeding, deep thinking, school teaching, ice cream eating, school-loan paying, summer vacation loving, and baby co-sleeping ways. Now, although I may choose to still do those things, I will simply be Mama, a sinner saved by the King's grace, wife to my Prince, and mother to my beautiful babies.

Marlee
Little Mar Moo, always happy, will flash her best smiles to total strangers, and watches big brother all day....she thinks he is the coolest!

Motherhood

Motherhood
The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.

Our Favorite Thoughts and Tid Bits

All your children shall be taught by the Lord,
and great shall be the peace of your children.
—Isaiah 54:13

"Normal is only a setting on the washing machine"

It is what it is

That's what she said

Live, Laugh, Love

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
-Deuteronomy 6: 5-9

People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one.

A women's work is never done

Get the Gross

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being.
-Acts 17: 26-28

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. – 1 John 4:9-11
